As a mom of 4 children and a substitute teacher working across all grade levels in our local schools, I know firsthand that every child requires a unique approach. I don't believe in just "watching" kids or handing them a screen; I believe in truly engaging with them. Whether your child is high-energy and wants to run around outside, or quiet and loves to read, build, or create, I meet them right where they are to ensure they feel safe, heard, and happy.
Of particular interest to me during my SLP program were my courses on language development and reading, which helped me understand the profound impact that both have on a child's confidence and academic success. I am a firm believer that the foundation for reading begins early, and I love making that developmental process both fun and engaging. I don’t offer formal lessons, but rather "stealth learning" through interactive storytelling, word games, and shared reading experiences. For younger children, I focus on building vocabulary and pre-literacy skills through play; for older kids, I love supporting their current reading goals and sparking a genuine excitement for books.
To give parents uninterrupted quiet time at home—whether for remote work, house projects, or well-deserved rest—I offer flexible options for where we spend our time:
Out and About: Taking the kids entirely out of your house for local library trips, park outings, and fresh-air adventures.
At My Home: Certain scheduled slots can take place entirely at my house, providing a safe, welcoming, change-of-pace environment for your kids while giving you a completely quiet home.
At Your Home: Traditional care right in the comfort of your own living space.
Whenever weather and safety permit, I love getting children out into the fresh air to experience the world around them.
Outdoor Adventures: Neighborhood bike rides, picnics in the park, walks to observe local wildlife, or discovering simple wonders right in our nearby parks and backyards.
Beach & Ocean Fun: I love taking kids to the beach for boogie boarding, surfing, and building sandcastles. As a surfer and a mom, I hold a deep respect for the ocean and ocean safety—ensuring your children are safe, supervised, and protected is always my absolute top priority while we explore the water.
Playful Reading & Literacy: We build foundational reading skills through activities like rhyming games, silly word play, and sight-word matching, while fostering comprehension and a love for reading through trips to the local library, engaging read-alouds, and storytelling.
Creative Focus & Active Play: Board games, puzzles, baking treats, building forts, creating with LEGOs or blocks, arts and crafts, and scavenger hunts.
Infants, toddlers, elementary, and middle school ages—fully experienced and comfortable with all stages of childhood development.
